Note: Our core team is based in KSA, while this role will be based in our soon-to-be-established office in Amman.

Role Overview

As our first design hire, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling our design function. Your expertise in creating intuitive web interfaces will be at the heart of our product, and you will also cover broader design areas, including brand identity and overall visual strategy. Working closely with the CPTO, CEO, and our engineering team, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy while shouldering significant responsibility. In this role, your ability to adapt, innovate, and help grow the design function as the company evolves will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end product design process, including research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
• Design and refine user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring an intuitive user experience.
• Develop and maintain the visual brand language across digital platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, and sales) to balance design innovation with technical feasibility.
  
• Establish design processes and contribute to building a strong design culture within the company.
  
• Adapt design strategies as the company grows, taking responsibility for evolving both product and brand design.
  
• Build and maintain the design system for our products.
  
• Produce high-quality branded online and offline, collateral and assets designs.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience (5+ years) in designing web interfaces with a strong portfolio that showcases UI, UX, and brand projects
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  
• Ability to think strategically about design in both product and brand terms, and to work independently in a start-up environment.
  
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting design ideas to senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to changing requirements in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A keen eye for detail with a commitment to quality design. Yes, we love someone who can spot small spelling mistakes and subtle pixel differences 🤓!

Desirable

• Experience in designing native iOS and Android applications.
• An online portfolio of design work.
• Previous experience with startups or in a technology company.
• Experience in the KSA or wider GCC region.
